Why we started Novastart.

We built and sold a company together in 2025 (Aquavoss), and along the way we learned how much time the computer quietly takes from you. Every night we closed a desktop full of tabs, documents and half-finished work. Every morning we rebuilt it from scratch: the same windows, the same setup, the same workflows we had already done the day before. When we were working from different cities (Nick in NYC and Thomas in Los Angeles), collaborating meant screen shares and files sent back and forth, when what we really wanted was to sit at the same computer.

So we built Novastart: an operating system where every window has a place on one infinite canvas, where your work is still there tomorrow, and where a teammate can click and type in your windows from their own machine, wherever they are.

...but what we're most excited about is our AI agents. Agents can now use computers on their own, but most of them work where you can't see. At a time when trust and security in AI matter more than ever, you should be able to watch everything an agent does. So every Novastart agent has its own cursor and works in plain sight, on the same canvas as you and your team.

Our timeline

Our timeline.

Scroll down. Ten steps, from the idea in November 2024 to the launch in September 2026, and what comes next.

  1. The idea.

Nick and Thomas were tired of rebuilding their desktops every morning, so we started sketching a computer that remembers your work.

  2. First shape.

The first wireframes turned our sketches into something we can click through.

  3. A team to build it.

We hired an engineering team to bring the concept to life.

  4. Orgaboard.

Our first version shipped under the name Orgaboard. It proved the idea and showed us what to build next.

  5. A new foundation.

Laura Susana joined to redesign the architecture from the ground up.

  6. Overhaul completed.

Laura completed the new build with the infinite canvas and Team.

  7. Polish.

Thomas took the build through bug fixes and interface improvements.

  8. AI Agents.

We added AI agents with their own cursors, so we could watch them work for us on our canvas.

  9. Go to market.

Nick joined full-time to take Novastart to customers.

  10. Launch.

The website went live and anyone can install Novastart.

  11. Future

We have an exciting future to look forward to!
